Take several slow, deep breaths to calm your mind and body. Let the exhale soften tension, notice what is present without judgment, and allow yourself to become calm and alert.
PEACE is a five-step practice for cultivating Relaxation, Intention, Safety, Gratitude, and Empathy before you begin the Salience Method—or anytime you want to return to center.
PEACE helps you create the inner conditions that support the Salience Method. Move through the five steps slowly, with a relaxed effort, then notice how your focus, energy, and mood feel afterward.

Set the direction of your journey. Picture the qualities you want to strengthen—such as focus, peace, happiness, or compassion—and state your intention clearly. A simple phrase can be: “I will heal and awaken my mind.”
Settle into an alert, relaxed posture in a place that feels stable and relatively free from distractions. Ground yourself in the present moment and remind yourself: “Here in this moment, I am safe.”
Soften your face with a gentle smile and practice gratitude for the present moment. Appreciate what is working in your life and savor any brief sense of calm or clarity. “Thank you for this moment.”
Cultivate compassion for yourself and others. Wish health, happiness, and peace for yourself, then extend the same intention toward the people in your life and the wider world. “May I be happy, healthy, and at peace.”
Practice PEACE before Reset, Release, or Rebuild—or during an ordinary moment when you feel distracted, reactive, depleted, or disconnected from what matters.
