1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use SOS Mind, we may collect:
Account information. Your name, email address, account creation date, authentication information, and account settings.
Journal and practice information. Journal entries, reflections, exercise progress, Guided Journey progress, and other information you choose to enter or save in the app. Because free-text entries may contain sensitive information, please include only information you are comfortable storing in the app.
Feedback and communications. Information you submit through the feedback form or send to us by email, including your name, email address, feedback type, and message.
Newsletter information. Creating or signing in to an SOS Mind app account also subscribes you to the SOS Mind newsletter. Your name, email address, subscription status, and related email-preference information may be processed through MailerLite. You may unsubscribe from newsletter and promotional messages at any time.
Technical information. Our service providers may process limited technical information needed to operate and secure the app, such as browser or device information, IP address, timestamps, diagnostic logs, and request information.
App measurement information. The SOS Mind mobile app uses the AppsFlyer software development kit (SDK). It may collect app installation and launch/session events, event timestamps, app version, device model, operating system, language, IP address and approximate location derived from it, AppsFlyer/device identifiers, and advertising identifiers when available under device permissions and settings. Advertising identifiers may include the Google Advertising ID on Android and the IDFA on Apple devices. Attribution information may include the campaign, advertisement, or referral that led to an installation. This collection can occur when using the app as a guest as well as when signed in.
Website measurement information. Our website uses Google Analytics and Meta Pixel to measure visits and marketing activity. Depending on the tools and settings in use, they may receive browser and device information, IP address, cookie identifiers, pages visited, referring URLs, and actions taken on the website.
2. How We Use Information
- create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your account;
- provide exercises, save Journal entries, record progress, and personalize your experience;
- respond to feedback, questions, and support requests;
- send account confirmation, password-reset, security, and other transactional messages;
- send SOS Mind updates and resources, subject to applicable consent and unsubscribe requirements;
- diagnose technical problems, prevent misuse, and improve the app;
- measure which campaigns lead to app installations and launches, understand website traffic, assess and improve advertising performance, and detect advertising fraud;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.
3. Service Providers and Measurement Partners
We use service providers to operate SOS Mind. Service providers process information to provide their services. Advertising partners may also process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Current providers include:
- Supabase, for authentication, database storage, and server-side functions;
- Resend, for transactional and feedback email delivery;
- MailerLite, for newsletter and marketing-email management;
- AppsFlyer, for mobile app attribution, campaign measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention;
- Google Analytics, for website analytics;
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for website and app advertising measurement and campaign optimization, including through Meta Pixel and our AppsFlyer integration;
- hosting, infrastructure, security, and application-development providers used to make the app available.
These providers maintain their own privacy and security practices.
AppsFlyer helps us understand whether an advertisement led to an installation or app launch. Our integration with Meta can send installation, activation, and other configured measurement events and associated technical identifiers to Meta. Depending on the integration settings, this can include events from people who did not arrive through a Meta advertisement. These events are sometimes called postbacks. Meta may match this information with information it holds to measure and improve advertising.
The app's AppsFlyer integration is used for installation and launch/session measurement. We do not send the contents of journal entries, reflections, self-ratings, or faith preferences to AppsFlyer or Meta as app advertising event data.

4. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information:
- to service providers that help us operate the app;
- to measurement and advertising partners as described in Section 3;
- when you direct or authorize us to do so;
- when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or governmental requests;
- to protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of SOS Mind, our users, or others;
- as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing device identifiers and activity information with advertising partners may be considered a sale, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, or targeted advertising under some privacy laws, even when no money is exchanged. See Sections 7 and 8 for choices and requests.
5. Email Communications
Account-confirmation, password-reset, security, and similar transactional messages are necessary to operate your account.
Creating or signing in to an SOS Mind app account also subscribes you to the SOS Mind newsletter. Newsletter and promotional messages are managed separately, and you may unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in a message. Unsubscribing from marketing messages does not prevent necessary account or security emails.
6. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain your account, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
You may delete your SOS Mind account through:
Account deletion is intended to remove your account and associated user-owned app data, subject to limited retention where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup, or recordkeeping purposes.
You may also review account-deletion information at sosmind.com/delete-account/.
Measurement data may be retained separately from your SOS Mind account by AppsFlyer and advertising partners, under the applicable service settings, agreements, and policies. Retention depends on the type of information, the measurement purpose, and legal or security needs. Deleting your SOS Mind account or uninstalling the app does not automatically erase all measurement records previously received by these partners. Contact hello@sosmind.com to request deletion of measurement data; we may need information to locate the relevant device records and coordinate the request with our providers.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
You may:
- edit your name in Settings;
- review your email and account date in Settings;
- change your password;
- unsubscribe from marketing emails;
- delete your account through Settings;
- contact us regarding a privacy request.
We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
Advertising and measurement choices. Your device settings may let you limit advertising identifiers or app tracking. On iPhone or iPad, review Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, review the advertising privacy controls available in Settings. Availability and labels vary by device and operating system. These settings do not necessarily stop all analytics or delete data already collected.
You can restrict or clear cookies in your browser, although this may affect website features. Browser cookie settings do not control the AppsFlyer SDK in the mobile app. AppsFlyer also provides end-user choices through its Services Privacy Policy.
To request an opt-out of advertising-related sharing, object to processing, or withdraw consent you have provided, email hello@sosmind.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Acceptance of our Terms of Service or this Privacy Policy is not itself consent to optional advertising tracking.
8. California Privacy
California residents may have additional rights under California privacy law, subject to the law’s scope and exceptions. These may include rights to know, access, correct, or delete certain personal information and rights relating to the sale or sharing of personal information.
SOS Mind does not sell personal information for money. Our advertising integrations may disclose device identifiers, internet or app activity, and approximate location information to advertising partners for measurement and advertising purposes. Such disclosures may be considered a sale or sharing under California law. Where applicable, you may request to opt out of sale or sharing, including through an authorized agent, and exercise your rights without unlawful discrimination. 9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no internet transmission, storage system, or security measure can guarantee absolute security.
Protect your password and notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
10. Children’s Privacy
SOS Mind is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address the matter.
11. Educational and Wellness Purpose
SOS Mind provides educational and self-development practices. It does not diagnose or treat medical or mental-health conditions and is not a substitute for professional care.
Journal entries and reflections are user-directed. Do not use the app to store information that requires emergency monitoring or immediate professional response.
12. International Use
If you use SOS Mind outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy protections may differ from those in your location.
Where European Economic Area or UK data protection law applies, the legal basis depends on the processing: providing requested account and app services, legitimate interests in security and service administration where appropriate, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required for optional cookies, SDK access, and advertising-related processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to an international transfer of your data.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app, our practices, or applicable requirements. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
